#28325 yea well im getting a full b16 swap off a 99 civic si, i am planning on installing it on my 94 civic hatch cx. What i need to know is what kind of process will i have to go through with wiring for this engine other than vtec, and i heard some guy say that the b series axles wont fit my cx submodel, is this true cuz as far as i know its all the same.

#28330 the CX has a 1 wire o2 sensor. You'll want to convert to a 4-wire 02. The axles should not be an issue. I really don't know anything about B series, I'm a D guy. I'll wait for one of the B gurus to chime in so I don't give you any wrong info :thumb:

#28343 you need to use the b series axles and they will slide right into your current cx hubs. You will want to upgrade your brakes soon after the swap though. You will have more power and a VTEC crossover you will want to hear on a daily basis and your stock brakes wont suffice.

As for wiring, you will need to rewire your 02 sensor to a 4 wire and add the wires for the vtec and knock sensor. You will want to get a P30 or a chipped p28 to run the motor. You will also need a OBD1 distributor so you dont have to swap over to the OBD2 system.

#28378 ok, this doesnt sound so bad i am getting the 99-00 si ecu i thinks its the p30, Can i use the harness that comes with the engine would it be easier, does anyone know a good link that explains how to add these 02 sensor wires? and how hard is it to swap to obd2 system is this really necessary? i thought that my 94 civic hatch cx was obd2, sorry for all these queations i rather be safe than sorry

#28380 Your car is OBD1, 1996 and newer cars are OBD2. OBD2 is a bigger pain in the ass.

#28404 it all works just drop it in, axles fit, wire for 4 wire 02 and i think you might have to wire it up for Knock, might be easier just to get a EX/Si engine harness from 92-95 civic, and go from there, and you'll need integra mounts, or B series mounts for 92-95 and get an OBD1 Dizzy and convert all the other things to OBD1 thats needed to be converted

99-00 B16a ecu isnt a p30. the Delsols ecu was a p30. You cant use the obd2b ecu in your car.

lol yah easier to program! way harder to work on (if u dont have the tools)

i mean you need keep alive memory... to disconnect a battery on a obd2 car.. thats just shitty lol
