#353611 Problems:

I was at a stoplight and it turned green so I accelerated through and into 2nd. 3rd gear was very sputtery as well as 4th and 5th. It only got worse and after a few moments I had to pull over. I tried to drive it again and I was getting very little power. I turned the car off for about 5 minutes to call my parents, and when I started it again to try and move it off the side of the road, It drove pretty much fine. So I drove it to school and left it for around 8 hours. Then, I drove it around 50mph and it was really sputtery and had almost no power. No smoke came out of the tailpipe, so I pulled over and turned the car off. It didnt jump a tooth on the Timing belt, so I pulled the spark plug wires and cylinders 2 and 4 were full of oil. So valve cover gasket? Thats what the guy at Advance Auto said when I told him.

Let me know what you think guys. Thanks!

#353613 Had the same problem with my hatch. Ended up being the spark plug tube seals. I know they come in the fel pro valve cover gasket set. Hope this helps!

#353615 Check general ignition items. Plugs, wires, dizzy, coil, igniter, etc.

Almost every time my car sputters, it's the coil.

#353619 Had to drive it up a bridge. At the end, I had almost no power whatsoever. I think its something bigger than ignition stuff

#353620 Replaced the coil, cap, and rotor like a year ago. Wires are NGK's and worked really well yesterday when the car was actually running.
It may have jumped a tooth, I'm not entirely sure.

#353621 When my ignition coil went out on my b18, my tach would jump around, the car would sputter and misfire and inevitably die. When I had the d15z1 in my car I had the exact same problem you did. 2 of my plugs were drenched in oil. Got a valve cover gasket kit ( comes with the plug seals) for dirt cheap. Replaced and cleaned everything off and car ran fine for the 2 weeks I had the engine in there. My buddy has the same z1 in his hatchy now and it is still running hard. Well as hard as a z1 can charge. haha.

Just my .02. Nice car by the way. Good luck.

#353736 Well, guys, turned out it was a clogged injector and was only working on 3/4 cylinders!
Soaked the injector in seafoam and it started right up and ran like a champ! :D

However, new problems keep popping up. The front passenger brake was seizing up, so we replaced the caliper cause it was shot.
Was still seizing up a bit, so we took it to Tires Plus and they said the soft brake line was leaking. it was, so we replaced it. Turns out
now that the WHOLE front passenger Hard brake line needs to be replaced. By hard brake line, I mean the whole
metal lines running to the brake booster. No bueno
