#305868 soo i havnt been on here in a couple days...reason being is my head gasket blew and left me with a knock in my lower end :x :x :? ...probably a wrist pin went bad or something...all i know is my head gasket didnt exactly blow..it exploded!!....cuz it was doing fine..then i was stopping at a red light and before i could even stop it stalled on me and next thing yu know im surrounded by white smoke..i felt like i was on a plane going through clouds... ..so i tried to start it back up and there was so much water in the cylinders it wouldnt even start...later on when i got it home and took the head off, #3 cylinder was at bottom dead center and the whole cylinder was filled with water...sooooo i have been searching hard on a solution for my self....and came up with 3 options keeping in mind i dont have the money for any of this and will be having to "take out a loan" from a family member

1. get another junk yard motor = $800 and possibly be a waste of money and time if that motor is no good...again..

2. buy another car for a beater/DD build my motor including machine work, forged internals etc. (if im going to build it im going to build it once and correctly..)= $2,000 plus what ever i spend on the car i get

3. buy another 4door with a healthy motor and rust free body and take everything from my car now and put it on my new one..and go from there...= $1,500-2,000

im leaning toward the new 4door...here are a couple links to show wut i found so far...all have no rust according to the seller...ill try and go look at them by the end of this week

#305872 its unfortunate to hear about that motor going like that  , but if you're gonna get a new 4 door, i would say go for the 3rd link you posted. while it might be an auto-tragic, the car looks friggin immaculate.

on a side note, it seems like the prices for clean civics are cheaper down in the city the up here in the boonies, and that makes me sad, haha.

#305904 if your buying a junkyard motor for 800 id say just buy a warrantied jdm d15b vtec for 800. just my 2 cents :P good luck either way :thumb:
