CCR85's '95 Cx New update 7/3/10

- Fri Dec 12, 2008 1:10 am #83206 Well ive been up late lately comming up with ideas and stuff such as that and well my Cx is very close to me pretty much the last car me and my father worked on together before his passing....probaly why i hold it so close to me and i dont really care about any other cars....

Well anywho I am starting a new build thread hopefully this one stays on track unlike my other one which went from turboing my stock Z6 to turboing a obd0 ZC converting that to obd1 and plopping it in my Cx now I am not really going to reveal alot of the information on what i am planning on doing but yea its nothing like my last thoughts......

So here we go
Story time
-Well I recently traded my pretty much finished Si to a good friend for his 1996 Chevy S10 4x4 5spd needed a truck and 4x4 is awsome to have...also has a nice stepside bed but its another projcet lol...as well as he is giving me his Xbox 360 with wireless controllers games etc...for my Z6 and swapping it into the Si.

Due to my Z6 not being perfect and having unknown mileage and also haveing a nice oil stream around the head area I said sure and am now in the process of swapping it....

Now my ZC thats going ot another good friend who just traded his auto 4dr eg for a really nice '90 civic ef hatch 5spd dx since i really dont need the hassle n the moneys nice lol

but yea here is a breif outlook for the next couple of months

-body work
Strengthening the chasis fabricating my own rear seat delete, possibly a roll cage gotta check with the state laws was told illegal in NY? but yea there is that and then just regular body work fixing the rust getting everthing straight and getting rid of unneeded weight. possibly looking towards getting a c/f rear hatch (painting it of coarse keeping my hood even though it looks rice i like it and it is functional so idc) and yea just going out there and looking for stuff really. but thats just a little sneak peak at what im doing

-engine
all I gotta say is im sticking with a D

-Suspension
pretty much plan on getting mild lowering springs not to low and not as high as i am even though i like that height i think a little lower will better my stability by lowering the car some and of coarse sway bars lol and the rear support brace

And that is all to come once i finish this nice little deal wiht the Si and the holidays of coarse but yea theres a little preveiw tell me what you think about it and yea ill have pics up asap thre is a nice little storm brooing and a possible 5-10" of snow overnight so glad i am not driving my Cx anymore i could care less if i wrecked the truck....but yea there you go enjoy

- Sun Dec 28, 2008 11:51 pm #85861 I have a crazy idea for my d16z6 but not sure if its going to keep up with som turbo k....you should check out jge dynamics.com for ideas they have a d16 that has 262 hp allmotor they even got the dyno video for it check it out.....if you don't find it let me know I have it on my myspace profile.

- Mon Dec 29, 2008 4:17 am #85888 Yea i remember seeing them.....well i am guessing i gotta update now that im slowly getting together some stuff to make my plan happen.....but first a nice little story of how i obtianed some of these parts mentioned

---Well a friend i met over trading for a D15b7 motor for his radio deck and muffler axel back....finally sold his auto 94 4dr coupe with a motor that had shot rings in cyl 3 blew smoke like a champ and well I in turn got the parts i sold to him for practically nothing since i helped him n stuff getting a 91 ef hatch 5spd with some small problems but yea....Parts--most of a 5spd swap conversion i took out for him......including a semi high miles Ex trans or at least i think its ex might be from a 96-00 though gotta check the number code on her....anyhow i also got a vtec head that had 6 bent valves that well are just ever so slightly bent and this is the head i will rebuild most likely for my turbo project as its already pretty much torn down and ready to be cleaned up ported n polished. Now im just looking for a nice engine block either from a D16z6 or Y8 and then imma gonna try n do something nice to that block....

So far i have
Unknown dseries hydro trans 5spd with shift linkage
Z6 head

Now to talk about my car and possibly if i go on a rant i am sorry.....

Well I have been researching my ass off in between playing my xbox 360 and drawing....and well I guess I cant do a roll cage stufpid NY law prohibiting it from use on the streets.....So Im probaly just going to brace the car like a mofo and make it stiff that way. Next I am looking into seeing about a fuel cell 1-possibly better than my stock tank that is old and prolly rusty inside...2-safer 3-possibly better in a way when i turbo it to get a good fuel tank pump for it....
And so far that is it havent really done anything to it since i want to get ym truck going good gotta get it inspected in Jan. so well thats a good update for now...off to the yard tomarrow heard they dropped a Si in there see whats left of it....

- Wed Jan 14, 2009 2:08 am #88810 Ok well now here we go so like i mentioned above i traded my two delsol seats i paid like 50-70 for cant really remember but it was very cheap and yea traded for a D16z6 motor (llongblock kinda but came with extras)

The motor itself probaly either had a blown head or rings where bad because the kid said it blew smoke after he put cheaper plugs into it and well the plug dicintegrated and melted/welded itself to the piston so idc about that really since im getting vitara's once i get the cash.

Anyhow here are a couple of pictures we dropped the motor (no pics of that) through the bottom within an hour n half though wouldve took less but we got caught up with a frozen jack stand that had been secured into the ground verywell(it sunk and froze good)

But yea enough talking sorta let there be pics

When i got it home i opened up my tool bag so i could tare the motor apart in the back of the truck so it would be alot lighter since it was going to be me and my mother caring it down....so got the head off looked fine, and prepared it to be placed on my stand...

And here are some teaser shots lol i had to do it the head i am using has no internalsright now due to its getting ported n polished. and the turbo is being held on by zip ties n hopes n dreams lol....but yea im not sure if im gonna do that hf manifold set-up because $50 more and i can get a manifold with gasket to work with the T-25 i have and it will have better flow than the hf but im on the fence about it right now.
