- Thu Feb 28, 2008 1:58 am #43965 ^^ very true. im with you baxter, i think i am just going to get it painted as soon as i get the starter in it. i figure might aswell since i already have the swap. and the good news is i just talked to him and he said to just take it in, tell him what i want, and then he said i could pay him whenever i want! he also said if i dont mind leaving it there for a lil while he would even be able to do it cheaper, prob just the cost of the paint but i dont know if i can go that long without my baby :-? now the hard part... which color to choose? the blue on the new si's or the oem granada black or subaru odessy black?

what are your plans for the car?

well my plans are to eventually have it boosted and pushing around 300 hp to the wheels but i need a lot of things first, like my starter went out yesterday so i am going to try and replace it this weekend (hopefully post a DIY too ) i also need a new clutch, fuel filter, and test pipe. the shocks and bushings are also shot from the 3" gold line springs that were put on before i bought the car so i want to do the whole suspension before i boost it too. but recently a friend of my dad who owns a bodyshop said he would paint my car for real cheap, like next to nothing so i might just do that and then worry about everything else! what do you think? performance first or looks?

i could use a diy like that.

Get it looking DECENT, just so people don't spit as you roll by, but you don't need to spend $3Gs on the appearance first before you have any performance.

A lot of people throw around the term "all show show and no go go". I mean yeah it's nice to have a nice car, to get a bit of respect and to make it look like you take care of your car. Personally, I'm going to make mine look respectable and clean, then do what's necessary performance-wise, and then go back to aesthetic.

By the same token, having a 300hp civic that looks like a demo derby car can be shocking, but also a little revolting

- Fri Jun 06, 2008 5:37 pm #57673 lil update: so when i dropped off my car like a month ago i just asked for all the dents to be taken out and for it to be painted. but i just went by there to look at it (since i miss my baby ) and to my surprise they are cleaning up the whole car! yup new front bumper and fender, new front and rear windshields, various new interior and dash pieces, and a rear seat hehehehehehe i cant wait, she is gna look tits!

I've just done the D-B change on my coupe and cleaned it all up just waiting for my clean trunk lid to come through then gonna get it re-sprayed in standard black and have all the dents taken out will the have the show to go with the go
