from top to bottom:
Black 1 (Ground)
Black 2 (Ground)
Red.Black (always on, used black2 as ground)
Red.Yellow (always on, used black1 as ground)
Red.White (Switch dependent, uses black1 as ground)
I am confused Red/black + black 2 does..
Based on my usdm manual and other switch diagrams:
Red/yellow = logo illumination
Red/White = switch light illumination
but what is red/black? its constant on... i have no clue what it would be for..

well I decided to just plug in the harness in my car using exist power supplies to see what did what.
Turns out..
Black 2 and Red/Black turns on the lumination for the logo.
Black1 and Red Yellow would turn on the switch light constantly.
Black1 and Red White would turn on the switch light dependent on the switch position.
Now...i'm confused on what Red/Yellow is needed for....
never mind I think i figured it out.
Red/white = switch in
Red/yellow = switch out that goes to a relay.. that runs the power to the light. Sweet.
I just didnt get why they had..2 grounds..instead of just one.

That helps, I'm still waiting on my Haynes Manual. But soon as I get it, i'll check it out. If it has anything about it in there that is. I'll scan the pages.

Yeah I did, and it has nothing in there about the fog light! Everything but. Wiring diagrams about lights and everything, except the fog.
Sorry man.

I had a look through the Haynes manual too and as said, theres nothing on the actual loom
Ive found a few plugs with 2 earths though, not sure why but its happened a couple of times now... the ones for the heater controls have a couple of earths aswell...
The only wires id have thought you need are a live for the backlight, a live for the small light when the switch is on, a wire that goes to the rear foglight and an earth so unsure why theres 5 wires
maybe its a backup earth or something?

Isn't one of the earth wires for the LED behind the switch itself?

Okay went down to my car and took my switch and took the multi-meter to it and this is how it seems to be working to me anyway.
1 Black GND for the Enabled Light
2 Black GND for the Backlight(logo ilumination)
3 Red/Black VCC for backlight, turns on when side lights go on
4 Red/Yellow VCC for the Enabled Light
5 Red/(White) VCC from Dipped beam(ie goes high when dipped beams are on)
It would seem that when dipped beam is on and the switch is pressed it shorts line 4 and 5 putting the enable light on and therefore set pin 4 high which I would guess then goes to the fog light so you can only have it on with dipped beams.
Hope this is of some help/correct/what you were looking for.

thanks!
What is a dipped beam?
is this the light switch in position 1, where position 2 is everything on and 0 being off ?
I was confused in the relation between 4 and 5 was. Thanks for trying to help! I'll see what i can do with this info.

Sorry about that, Dipped would be position 2, ie lights off position 0, side lights on position 1 Dipped lights position 2.
Do you get what I said about pin 4 and 5, don't know if i explained it well enough lol.
Let us know if its correct, or just shout if i didn't explain it very well
