- Fri Feb 24, 2012 2:08 pm #296089 did the exhaust last night! was getting tired of the big honkin fart can its so annoying to hear at 6:30am. i dropped the entire exhaust and cut the end off the tailpipe where the muffler was clamped on. then i welded a flange on the end to make a sort of "axle back" section that is easily removable with 2 bolts. shoulda done it years ago now its very easy to change the tailpipe/muffler setup. just unbolt it and take it off instead of trying to rig a muffler up and weld under the car.

while I had the exhaust off i finally replaced the linkage bushings with the Energy suspension ones ive had for quite some time.

i just slapped this tailpipe section together in like 20 minutes with a resonator to quiet it down a bit. its a little leaky but it isnt permanent i want to get a better looking chrome tip for it. its fairly quiet a bit raspy but its not obnoxious like a fart can

its an old harley davidson muffler that i punched the baffles out of and cut the brackets off :lol: itll do for now

- Tue Feb 28, 2012 7:13 pm #296519 first time i heard what it sounds like from outside the car :lol: its deff alot quieter inside not laying its loud outside though. its a little raspy revving above 3k or so but inside its as quiet as can be. me and my lady can actually have a conversation. it is supposed to be a temporary setup but its growing on me :thumb:

I have some future plans in store for this spring!

im going to finally install my ES master bushing kit and ES trailing arm bushings that ive had sitting around for like a year

going to repaint the whole car with the same flat white only im going to clear coat it with flat clear and hopefully itll stay super white like it was the first few weeks. also the new exhaust should keep me out of the black bumper club lol

idk if i should paint the hood white with the car or leave it blue...

still up in the air about wheels... id like to find something new but i still love my carolina blue steelies... and im not sure about fitment with different wheels and tires because im going a little lower yet.

i also have this slick aftermarket sunroof that was given to me i would love to install. its nothing fancy no cranks or motors or nothing it pops open then the glass is removable with little lock sorta things its pretty neato but... id have to cut a bigass hole in my roof and headliner then hope it looks good, then hope i can seal it properly... big gamble

- Sat Mar 03, 2012 10:26 pm #296928 last month or 2 ive been having some clicking with the driverside axle. no biggy i have to extra sets laying around. it has been getting worse(more clicking more often and slight vibration while moving) and recently i noticed the boot is torn and grease is being flung out. so i decided to replace it today. took the car all apart la de dah went to pull the axle out after prying the shaft out of the tranny and the freakin thing went limp. like the main shaft slid right out of the big part that the tranny input shaft is attached to the only thing that held it together was the boot :shock:

safe to say that thing was shot :lol:

new axle in and were good to go. i also covered the holes in the engine bay( the one for the factory intake and the one for the ac thingy and the washer tank) with some sheet metal and bolted it down looks pretty snazzy :thumb:
