#258447 Need more info first of all. Do you have stock or upgraded brakes. I have a stock set up DX with HX rims and I don't have an issue. Are you sure it's the caliper that is rubbing and NOT the dust guard? Cause you can always shave down/cut the covers. I did, but that was mainly becuase they were bent, so I pulled them off.

#258456 Not calling you stupid, but are you sure you got HX and not VX rims? They look almost identical but the vx are smaller. I've seen people confuse them more than once on here before.

HX should have no problem fitting on our cars. It's the EK's that people need to run a spacer on to get them to fit.

#258529 The problem with HXs run with them hitting the caliper mounting bracket. if you have a 94+ ex this would be your problem. Grind down the bracket some and they should fit.

i know that, but i was tryen to ask is why wont the hx's fit the 94-95 civics
and not all 94-95 civics ex's have abs

then explain how 14in steelies fit over the bigger brakes, but the 14in hx wheels wont?? :?

#258749 My guess is becuase the steelies are mandrel bend and formed where as the HX's are cast. the mandrel bending allows for the walls to be thinner vs the thicker walls of the casting for the HX's. More metal equals a smaller I.D. and rub.

#258796 All 94-95 EX civic have the same brakes, same as the 99-00 SI and the 94-01 tegs.

They rub because the spokes are thicker front to back. There just isnt enough clearance for the bigger calipur back there. The hx civics didnt come with the same sized brakes as the EX cars did.

To solve the problem, you can run a 10mm spacer I believe or grind down the outter part of the calipur mounting bracket.

#286512 I had the same problem with my ej1 when I purchased my HX wheels, I can post some pics of what I had to shave off on the stock ex brakes if you would like.

#286515 I think the size of the wheel itself is the problem. The size of the hx wheel is 14x5.5 +45. I also think all 92-95 ex coupe/sedans have bigger front brakes. If you want to run the hx wheels on your ex, get some spacers.

#286646 I have hx wheels on my 95 ex....im running a 3mm spacer no issues at all. Or you can grind down the caliper alittle there are tons of diy threads on this issue
