You can just swap in your existing harness probably. Actually, I don't know if the door handles will swap USDM->JDM door panels (due to where the d/s lock switch is). Well, this presumes you want all the controls on the left ... and not leaving them for the passenger! I always gotta laugh when I see that.

I have a DIY for you to follow to get your door indicators in the cluster to work. Actually, do you have the complete EG9 dash harness? I've been thinking i'll have to swap the locks and harnesses for the front two doors, and should work fine, so i hope so. I'd rather do that, then swap everything between the two doors. At least the rear eg9 doors are the exact same. lol (i've proven this)

No, i don't have the full dash harness anymore, so i'm not sure how i'm going to get the door indicator light to work without a lot of work. I'm reading up on your DIY.

- Sat Jun 12, 2010 4:33 am #200003 Another thing i'm concerned about is the lighting on the cluster. It isn't that bright, and since i no longer can use the dimmer, i'm not sure if its the bulbs themselves, or something else.

- Sat Jun 12, 2010 4:52 am #200006 Hmm, well default setting will be full power so if it's not right, it's gotta be the bulbs. Possibly some are burnt out or didn't survive the shipment? Try swapping in some from your old one, and switching the bulb condoms.

As for the cluster door open indicator, you should follow my DIY, but you'll need to run two independent wires to where the door-open switch (triggers the dome light) for the rear doors splits. These splits are located in the wiring loom that's between the door sill and the driver's seat, roughly at the base of the B-pillar. Clip the existing splits and splice in your new wires.

Edit: You'll also need to get your low fuel light indicator working, too. ;)

- Sat Jun 12, 2010 5:17 am #200010 I'll have to mess with it tomorrow. Drove around, tach seemed fine, speedometer seemed fine, fuel and temp all worked.

I'm going to assemble the doors tomorrow and see where i can get with them. Maybe unpack the rear window. Still nervous about that lol

- Sat Jun 12, 2010 5:21 am #200012 Pretty sure the rear window with wiper requires a special rear deck/speaker lid/cover ... ie., one that will accommodate the rear wiper motor. Did you get that too? Might be able to modify your existing one if not.

I actually did get that. Have no idea what it looks like yet, but it's with the window. lol.

It's going to look a bit odd since i didn't get the rear gather speakers.

Think the front one's are worth selling?

You can track down the rear Gathers speaker covers any day of the week on eBay. But - are they really that special? Much different than the ones that come stock in the EX Coupe or EX Sedan? Never really studied this.

I can find the set for $50, but as you said, i don't feel them to be that special honestly. But the rear deck is going to have a larger hole to support the rear gathers, won't it?

- Sat Jun 12, 2010 5:38 pm #200081 Yeah before you spring for the rear Gathers, check out the rear deck on an EX Coupe. These came with an audio package standard (IIRC), -- you've seen the coupe doors with the tweeters, right? Made by Acoustic Research ("AR")? Well the rear deck has speaker covers that are a lot like the Gathers ones. If I were you I would first check if these fit in the holes on your EG9 rear deck. Have a look on eBay to compare sizes! (Then post some pics here. )

EDIT: Rear speaker grills were optional on 4-doors: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ins ... 08_01.html & the 2-door DX but standard on the 2-door EX.

- Sat Jun 12, 2010 7:05 pm #200088 My rear deck now (EG8) has rear speakers, but from the pictures i've seen of the rear gather speakers, their speaker cover is larger, so i assumed the hold for the speaker itself is larger too. (2 speakers in gathers vs. 1 speaker on my rear deck).

Door works fine.

Window motor works great, no issues.

Confirmed: Rear EG9 doors need NO alterations to work with USDM specs.

Front is gong to be a whole different story. fml. lol
