Digs EG Harvard blue DD build

Heres my ride at the moment, taken the photos with my cell phone while its raining and im bored, click on pic for a larger version if you wish.

refurbed head:

block(going to the engineers on monday):

New pistons, gaskets, rubbers, cam belt, water pump and piston rings:

front is up as the engines not in and the carb, tappet cover, branch and other bits are in the boot

and noooo whats this peeling on my roof? clear coat coming off? ahh help! and its not the rain or anything, it was there when it wasnt raining before

Back when they painted our cars, the technology of the clear coat was no where near where it is now. There was not UV protection like we have now. I have heard of some way to strip the clear off and just re-clear coating the car but i dont know if its actually possible.

- Sun Jan 03, 2010 6:26 am #165451 im not goin anywhere fancy with the motor yet as i just want it running asap, you see the engines in pieces as the previous owner drove the car with the water pump broke and the engine over heated, but luckily it wasnt too damaged so the block is a lil damaged so we're boring the block to a 1600 and i got the 1600 pistons like 5 days ago, once its all running smoothly on the road i might add a cold air intake and exhaust maybe we'll see whats up later! :) but im definately changed those stupid rims

I am Jealous of your rear antenna. My sedan has it on the roof, Having it in the rear like yours makes it look more classy.

- Mon Jan 04, 2010 12:57 pm #165652 sent the block and pistons to the engineer today so hopefully it'll come back soon soon so me and my dad can build it and put it in!!!! saw a white eg sedan today with black 17" racing harts on, looked sick and had lots of clearance but had super low profile tyres, making me think to go the 17" route when told not to hmmmm

What you can do is do a wet sand to get just the clear coat off if you wanna DIY..With wet sanding make sure you re wet the sand paper atleast every 5 secs..and maybe use 1000 to 1200 grit..something nice and fine, then just get some clear coat in a can and should be alright

- Sun Jan 10, 2010 10:55 am #167333 so guys i got everything back from the engineers, all i need is an oil pump and some bearings for the crank and conrods and then with the help from my dad we'll start building the engine! hooray! hopefully be running mid Feb! but while i wait for those parts im spending alot of time and sandpaper on the tappet cover, omg... but hey preparation is vital for the paint!
