Turbo and Supercharger discussion

#140054 Anyone have any thoughts on running boost on stock internals? Good and bad welcome. Just want some good debates and views on it cos i am planning on running on stock internals on my d15b (JDM). Also im not planning on running high boost also, just around 5-7psi. I am also just doing it to feel the sohc turbo feeling as i am going b series soon.

Also im just wondering if anyone is running a td04 turbo? How is it and is it any good on the d?

#140067 i think you would be completely fine, just make sure you get a good dyno tune because that's more important that anything...

you'll have fun with a quick spooling turbo and ~5-7psi you won't be harming your engine too much, the stock internals are good to ~220whp and especially if they are just hangin around, go for it :thumb:

#140169 Thanks guys.. Yeah i chose to get a td04 because it spools quickly and it ends when vtec kicks in. Thanks for your thoughts. Will be getting the parts soon.

#140173 a td04 should still be making boost after you hit vtec.
should max the effiency around 6800, but still boosting at redline 7200.

#140236 Oh thanks for that..

One question I got is how do I do the oil lines? Can I just use an adaptor on the oil filter and get some braided line?

And is there Anything I need to know before doing this? Like parts and tips?

Also if there's any good diy links you guys can let me know about that can help me

#140246 Look in the Boost section, I just wrote a DIY the other day about boosting a SOHC. I also prefer the oil sandwich plate adapter instead of tapping into the block where the stock oil pressure sensor goes with a T splitter. :thumb:
