#132977 awesome man, i might have to get one of those if i ever come across this again, it's rather annoying i must say but when i think about it, i dunno if it was my relay to begin with.... i did resolder all the connections yesterday so i think it'll last now :thumb:

i like the sound of the walbro...sounds very positive, i heard that you can't really run below 3/8 tank though since it's taller? but the pickup is in the same spot... so i dunno :?

#133533 bad news folks....

well it's crunch time for me cause i just found while i was fitting my turbo that i have to replace my headgasket  it's leaking water all over the front of my block but luckily it's not going into my oil/oil in water.

so FJ distributors is awesome and he overnighted me a new OEM headgasket because i emailed him and said that it got bent in transit (the reason it's leaking). i'm pissed nonetheless and also i have to MODIFY THE PISS out of my charge piping and downpipe...

i can't believe this turbo kit is going to be the end of me

so i think for the meet i'm just going to be running N/A ... in stock ECU form

haha actually the HG is from the assembly, it got bent ever so slightly in transit and when installed it's just putting water out the front of the block where they meet. the car has only ever been driven N.A so i'm just working out the kinks.

as far as the turbo goes, the block is built for it now :thumb: just the DP and charge piping need to be modified (so far)

boost is fun!!

#133612 boost is indeed fun, Sucks to hear your head gaskett is gone. Atleast your getting a new one and dont have to pull engine/tranny out agian.

I cant wait to see this at the meet, This will be insane. :thumb:

#133630 heh thanks man, i'm depressed though cause i was totally planning on getting my turbo kit installed this last weekend and getting tuned this week in time for the meet but looks like i will just be N/A and hit the boost trip over the next week.

i have so much modification that needs to happen and i'm going to try to not use a vacuum manifold which should be tricky. now my goal is to have this little HG business and my prop valve changed for the meet :thumb: :thumb:

we'll see how it goes

#133819 well so last night i made some progress...i changed the HG and the 4040 prop valve, bled the brakes and coolant and such.

so here is some evidence of the leaking, water is all up under the block and stuff:

got the head off and checked out the pistons:

Pistons look great so far, minimal carbon build up and plugs are nice looking :thumb: ... but only 500 miles ish

Charge Piping (2 out of the 3 pieces need to be hacked up)
Oil Return Line
Foglights to clear charge piping
Mount Intercooler to achieve all of this

#133873 Your black bay looks nice, I wish I painted my Bay black when I had the engine and tranny out of it. Oh well Next time

It sucks that there is now stains on your nice new clean painted block. I am glad everything is coming in place though. Cant Wait until Sunday, It should be an awesome meet. According to weather.com PIR should be around 88'F which should be quite nice compared to this current heat.

#135118 so working over the weekend, i got a few things accomplished:

fit my intercooler in my bumper cover
mounted 2 of the 3 charge pipes
modified the DP to clear the oil pan

*this actually took a long time lol

next up:
trimming radiator shroud
exhaust
custom bending for 3rd charge pipe
3 bar MAP sensor, ECU chipping and resistor box/450cc DSM's...

ANY IDEAS ON GOOD TURBO EXHAUST?

anyway, i did some fitting yesterday and made my own intercooler brackets and sort of got the intake pipe(s) hooked up:
