Gas mileage loss by swapping?

I'm going to wait until my current stock engine in my hatch goes bad until I do a swap since I'm getting around 40 MPG right now and travel several hundred miles and up to 1500 at a time for work driving to canada/mexico, but I was thinking about going with a b16 when this engine goes bad and was wondering what gas mileage I should expect.

Thanks,

Matt

depends on the tranny. an ls tranny on a b16 gets pretty good mileage. but it wont pull like it does with a gsr or b16 tranny.

I still get about 500kms per tank with my gsr. My stock d16 was around the same I didn't see much of a difference.

It honestly depends on how much you rag on it.
