running in time???

as all you regular members will know im replacing all 16 valves 2mo evening along with a nice service and all new gaskets.

my question is - should i run the new parts in at all before i let the heavy right foot take over???

its just my car is booked in for a rolling road day on saturday with another civic forum i use and id really like to go but... if the car aint ready for anything like that then its gunna have to be a NO NO

any help would be great :thumb:

If you were messing around with the bottom end I'd say break it in, but since your only doing valves......give her hell. :D

+1 , as long as there isnt any major wear and tear (break down) ur good..

i wonder... why do people build top heads then anyways..

its usally the bottom that cracks or shoots a rod.. or piston.. or spins bearing.....




BUILD THE DAMN BOTTOM!! LEAVE THE TOP!!! :x

most of the power is made in the top end. A good flowing head and a nice set of cams will get you alot of power.

i say at least drive it normally around the block a few times to ensure everything is a ok then rip it up!

for an all motor setup stock rods can handle pretty good abuse, if your looking for a good head look at portflow heads, i seen them make as much flow as an H22 head which is really good :thumb:

dude, the bottom end didnt need rebuilding because it was fine. i bent 4 valves which is why i rebuilt the head.

plus.... this thread is 7 months old now!

i asked the question, mike answered it...

it didnt really need to be dragged back up again.
