- Mon Apr 16, 2007 2:35 pm #5748 the only downfall is if they have emissions check in your area. Here, OBD2 cars are now tested diagnostically by plugging them in & scanning the ecu. OBD1 cars are still run on the 'dyno' with a sniffer on the tail pipe.

Same here in AZ. Cant wait to move back to Chicago, they dont even test OBD1 cars anymore.
