b18c1 question

when i rebuilt and swapped my gsr in my eg coupe, the knock sensor broke when i removed the clip and took off the harness. some people tell me that i dont need a knock sensor for obd1 some people tell me i do.

obd1 b18c1 in a obd1 eg 92-95 civic. p72 ecu.

please let me know. because if i dont need one i wont spend a shit load of $ that i dont need to.

You can have your ECU Chipped to not need a Knock Sensor.

However Honda did spend a good chunk of money to put a knock Sensor on all Vtec B-Blocks. I am sure they put it in there for a Reason.

if using aftermarket pistons u dont need it.. i had mine removed

just have your ecu chipped, you'll be alright.

well well well... chipped p28 is the way to go. plus if you bring ti to a programmer, they can chip it to the specs.. with what you have done and how you wanna run the engine. remember... only USDM vtec motors came with them for emissions purposes only... JDm motors dont have knock sensors... which means... to hell with it!
