probably the crank position sensor if its originally an OBD2 engine, my d16y7 has it, but on our cars the crank position sensor is inside the distributor.

what color is the connector? If its orange, its for the ABS that your car might not have.

Other than that, i'd say its the CP sensor, which isnt necessary if you have an OBD1 setup, where the CP sensor is integrated in the distributor.

From what i know:
If the pcm isnt getting a signal from the ckp or the ect the car will not start.

I am not understand how this can be the wires to the ckp
Also how can the distributor detect crankshaft position.
the distributor is ran off the cam ? :?

im very unsure whats goin on in this thread

if im incorrect please enlighten me
i am more then happy to learn

The cam is connected to the crank by the timing belt.

I believe the cam will rotate twice for 1 rotation of the crank.

its called an OBD2 engine in a car that runs on OBD1.
the ECU isnt looking for that sensor.

If the car was OBD2, he would have a CEL.
