#21832 Ok my LS just isnt cutting it anymore. Its going south and needs a rebuild really soon. im taking it to the autox this sunday for my first event with the motor and suspension.

ive been thinking about just swapping in a GSR motor since I have a GSR tranny already. I was wondering a few things though.

I want to make sure the GSR is pretty fresh when it goes in, hence Im going to be swapping the pistons rings and such for a rebuild and a bit more compression. I was also thinking about using an LS crank in it to give it more stroke. My question is, do I use the LS rods, either stock or eagle, or go with the GSR rods, stock or eagle?

I would also be putting on cam gears, and a new Intake manifold as I dont like the stock GSR one at all.

#21846 Why not just get a GSR long block from H-motors, (that way you know its in good shape) and build the head?? A strong head package is the key to a good build.

I did things ass backwards, I've got a built block not making ANYWHERE near as much power as it should, because I dont have a built head.

A built head on a GSR block, with a good header, should get you into the 200hp range, and believe me.......its plenty fun to drive.

But if you insist on doing it your way, get the Eagle LS rods on the LS crank.

#21887 I found a head already. B16a head with Toda B cams. I need a GSR short block now. Thats gonna be the fun part.

So with the GSR rods and the LS crank, the piston wont stick out will they? Ill be able to get the right deck clearance?

#21889 I did some homework. To run the LS crank without clearence issues you need the LS crank and rods with P30 pistons.

If i can get all those parts together, Thats what I want to do. Ive got a head now with Toda Spec B cams. Im just waiting on the GSR short block.
