#96094 Yeah, I wouldn't put the y8 head on in place of the Z6, that's a ton of work for little satisfaction. both are vtec, but the y8 will yield slightly higher compression ratio.

#96147 well i was going to put the y8 head on because with that and the y8 head gasket i figured i get some added ponies. is it not enough to make a difference?? i just dont know what to do to make my z6 faster....and without spending alot of money.

#96157 you'll raise your compression a little and require a higher octane gas, but you'll also need a set of new head bolts or studs which will be about $100 and an oem HG is another $40, and IM gasket is $8, and a d15b7 distributor to fit the y8 head. That's a lot of time and money for a few ponies.

Pick up a cold air intake or exhaust, but you won't really feel much of a difference.

Unless you're going to go forced induction or nitrous on a SOHC, it's not worth spending all the money. You'll get much more fun for your money investing in suspension or get a set of wheels.

#96234 Lurk some Honda forums and keep an eye out for someone's old turbo setup.

Then buy it. :D

#97007 The Z6 and Y8 head gaskets are the same part number.

Keep the better flowing Z6 head and get some high compression pistons. Not too crazy though.
