I dont have a D15B7 its a D15B8 which would explain why its so slow. All the posts I read say the D15B8 is 8 valve mine definatly says D15B8 on the block and 16 Valve on the valve cover... HMMM Can I swap an intake mani from a B7 and feel a difference ? Also what does this mean as far as a mini me swap

You have an 8 valve motor with a 16 valve head? I'd take the cover off and look to be sure. I didn't think the d15b8 pistons had reliefs cut for 4 valves, so if someone put a 16 valve head on, they would have had to take the bottom end apart to swap pistons. That's if they didn't have the reliefs for a 4 valve head.

If you already have pistons cut for a 4 valve head, then a mini-me will be exactly the same steps as if you had a D15b7 :thumb:

You could probably swap the manifold, but I doubt you would feel any difference.

The valve covers are interchangeable.

There is essentially nothing you can do to an eight valve motor to make power. Boost doesn't care how many valves you have, but the engine is too weak to handle boost w/out internal upgrades so it just isn't worth it.
