Hey guys. I'm on vacation down in ft lauderdale Florida and I was searching for some parts for my hatch and i found a block for 50 bucks so i grabbed it. now I am planning on rebuilding another motor so whats the cheapest set of forged rods and pistons i can go with? my goal is 250-300hp. What crank should i use as well as a head? i was thinking of going with a zc head and rebuilding it or possibly just rebuilding a d15b7 head? let me know what you guys think and any help is greatly appreciated.

This is a 1.5L D motor and you want to make 250-300? Either NA or FI the cheapest rods and pistons won't be what you want. Making that much power reliably will take a moderate amount of investment at best.

If it is a 1.5 then rods will cost a fortune alone. Your better off starting with a 1.6l block.

When dealing with internals you don't want to go cheap. This is when the brand really matters. Just do a little research. But I would recommend Wiseco pistons and Eagle rods from the research I have personally done.
