idle...putters

ok at idle my car putters..the rpms go up and down just alittle..one or two rpms....but when you listen to the exhaust it has a putter(mind you it has no cat or resonators)..it was like that when i bought it its a d16a6 block and a vtec head..help..thanks

What RPM does it idle at? You can't rely on the factory tach. You need to hook up a diagnostic tach and the plug connector on the strut tower.

Ignition timing. Idle control screw (both should be checked adjusted according to the shop manual). Verify you have the correct cam gear for the head. Verify cam timing.

ok ill take care of that!....the guy hooked up a aftermarket tach...but ill look into that stuff

well i cleaned all my sensors and cleaned the iacv and it still has the same problem...help!!!

also a screw is stripped on the tps so the tps moves around alittle

have your tps adjust and also clean up your TB :)

did you bleed the coolant andpurge it of air bubbles this could also cause idle to not work correctly....
