HI, i have a D15Z1 in my vx and i want ot get and engine and rebuild it to 100% so it will be like new and more eficiant and etc anywase i have a delsol SI and i might use the D16z6 engine BUT ALSO i have an extra D16z6 po8 head and for sale on craigslist is a block+head from a
1988-1991 SI CIVIC motor the D16A6

QUESTION: can i use the block from the D16A6 and head from the D16z6 ??? please let me kow asap !! also what would be a nice engine to rebuilt with like a topline kit from the D series ??

if i have the civic VX with the motor D15z1 and i will be putting in the D16A6 with D16z6 head what will i need ?? will i need ecu ??

the A6 is a great bottom end to build on, just as good as a z6

also, you'll need a P28 ecu. That ECU uses a 4-wire o2 sensor instead of the VX's 5-wire o2. Other than that it should be a direct swap

ok i have a 94 vx with the D151 and po7 head all original and for 100$ im getting a
D16A6 block and that engine is 108 hors 9:1:1 and if i use my spare D16z6 head p08 ,and rebuild the entie engine to assembly line condition with better quality piostons,etc what am i looking to get will it be a better # ?? also in the rebuild what are some IMPORTANT things i should do to it ? i know in the head i will port it and mabey short for better compresion probabley thicker gasket etc please let me knoe the following:

1:what # or will the engine be better with this rebuild and swap
2:what will i need
3: what are some important thing that will make a difference in any and all ways that i should do/replace during build ??

oh would the d16a6 bottom be better or the y7 ?? im getign the a6 but im just wondering because the guy is selling both for sme price ? thanks oh and about the info i can give u money first then u give me info so u believe me if u want thanks t

forget about the y7 bottom end, they're known to have oiling issues compared to the a6 and z6

keep the vx wiring harness, the only thing you might need to do is run wires for the 4 wire 02, or modify the harness to make it work. I've never done that swap before so I'm not 100% sure. You'll need the p28 pinout and a 4 wire o2, and then run the wires to the right pins from the 02.

Just buy a stock P28, none of this modifed or chipped junk from ebay. just a bone stock P28, should be about $100.

so right now i have a 5 cable o2 and i need to buy a 4 wire and hook it up ?? also why do i nedd the p28 ecu what is different ?

you may need to run wires for the 4 wire 02, or modify the harness to make it work. I've never done that swap before so I'm not 100% sure.

The P28 is what you need for the z6 head. it's vtec, not vtec-e like the vx has.
