are the y8 pistons a good chioce to use for a N/A build up. i was told that they would raise my compression if i installed them. is this true?

y8's have a higher compression ratio than z6's, but I thought it was because of the smaller combustion chambers on the head, not the pistons. Y8's use a thinner head gasket too which will help raise the compression.

The pistons will raise the compression some. But not really enought to warrent them for a NA build up. If you want a nice NA build up for a D you need to go get a set of P29 US D16a1 pistons. Or if you dont want that high of a CR go grab some PMS-A00 01-03 civic GX pistons. 4cc dome compared to the P29s with a 7.2cc dome.
The head gaskets are the same. When I orderd a gasket from honda the z6 and y8 had the same. but...you might as well get the y8 being that it is a new part number and more than likely they will have it.
