my d16z6 build

- Tue Nov 27, 2007 6:39 am #31555 i picked up a d16z6 for uber cheap (cuz thats how i roll) and ive always wanted to build a motor from scratch, and now im doing it. i basically got a block pistons crank head valve cover and oil pan and thats about it. my plan as of now is to use p29 pistons and cower stage 2 cam titanium retainers ect. should be fun and if not a good learning experience.

pulled the head off, yeah thats water in side, the motor sat outside with no cover

but the rods arent, pistons seem fine tho

going aftermarket for replacements?

Are you going to get the cyls bored out, in addition to honed?

Keep us up to date, I just built my z6 last year, so if you have any ?'s I should remember the answer :)

haha thanks on the compressor, i had to find a place to for the 6 stickers lol, theres one on my blue junkyard tool box in that pic also

im still deciding on which rods im going to use, im sure that stock rods would be fine, but i will prob go aftermarket, better safe than sorry

no just honing the cylinders since im going to use p29 pistons from the d16a1 for higher comp

but will deff keep it updated, had planned on tearing down the head today, but my rother blew his waterpump in his f150 so im busy with that today now :thumbdown:
