Look at the alternator from the top, there's a curved piece of metal. There's a grove that has a bolt that you can looses. Then it will slide back and forth. That's how you adjust the tension. Loosen the bolt on the bottom of the alternator, that bolt acts as a pivot. Then loosen the one on the curved bracket that adjusts the tension. Replace the belt and be sure you have enough tension before you tighten the 2 bolts back down.
