just dropped this motor in about a week ago it was from my friend civic. no problems at all with it. then today i was taking pictures real fast with the car on and it starts to smoke alittle. now there is no cat or resinator just a dc header and muffler. idk if this is suppose to happen or not im kinda new to honda stuff. this is the second time ive seen smoke the first time was when i was on the high way the car was reving at about 3500-4k rpm and i let off the gas for about 5 seconds then gave it more gas and a poof of smoke came out. same color smoke as in the video theres no blue at all. so please help me other then this the motor seems mint and well taken car of has about 120k on it. thanks Anthony

the highway incident has me concerned, because the engine was already warmed up. A little bit of smoke when you first start the car can be normal if it is cool out in the morning.

I would do a compression test for sure. Also check your coolant and make sure there's no gunk in it or oily residue on the surface.

motor has been in for a week now just check coolant right after i got down taking pictures and it was good oil is also good. hasnt smoked yet after that and i forgot to put that it just rained like a tropical storm lol may of been water in the muffler but you are right the highway thing it only does it at high revs and holding off the gas then giving it gas. other that that moment and the video no smoke im doing a test this weekend what are good numbers to have?

Valve seals would be more of a blueish smoke from burning oil.

hmm. im stumped lol i even bypassed the coolant line that run threw the throttle body no smoke yet but it idles at 1k-1500 its annoying idk what else it would be maybe a small fault in the head gasket... im also running barely any anti freeze mostly water idk if this makes a differance... if it does tell me and i will change it. i really want to get this figured out...

bypassing the throttle body shouldn't make any difference.
Have you done a compression test yet?

I think you're going a little crazy over this.

That just looks like condensation. Does it still do this on a dry warm/hot day?

that looks like water evaporating. does not look like smoke.

the high way thing could have just somthing random. if it only did it once i wopuld not concern about it. as long as its not black or blue. plus you have no cat or resonator. so any lil bits of smoke that would trap inside the cat and resonator will now come threw the ass. honestly, i dont think ther is anything wrong.
