#126001 ya, i know what you mean, but idk somethin is really wrong with my car
and NO one can figure it out, and i get really shitty gas mileage too

#126006 well when the motor is cold after sitting 5+ hrs it runs like a champ
but after it warms up it loses all its power its like drivin a sti for a week then gettin a geo metro and drivin... have to down shift to speed up
and when i climb hills i can only go like 45-50mph and when i warm the car up and then turn it off then start it back up it bogs down, like i hit the gas and the car goes nowhere, when it bogs down its like takin off at a light then shifting into 2nd then into 5th and slamming on the gas, its gets loud and you go nowhere,

and bout the gas mileage, im ave 250 highway miles on a full tank
which i should be ave almost 400 on the highway on a full tank
and when i make right turns my gas gauge goes down and when i turn left it goes up and when the gas gauge is on the red i fill it up and it only takes like 7 gallons to fill it, when its on the red line it should take almost 10-11 gallons to fill

:? :? :?
rite now i really hate my car :x

#126019 ok well your gage will move when turning. tis the gas moving to one side making the gage float move. mine does it and just about all eg models do it. ok this is what i would do. first you need to replace your sparkplugs, check your wires and cap to make sure thay are not burned or worn out. change the oil and filter, and put ina can of engine restor. it is in a silver soda can looking thing with a pull tab. it blue and thick. help restor seals and help with friction. it has worked great for me. this should be done jsut befor you need to fill the tank. once done go to the gas station and filler up with primo gas,91octane. fill it all the way up. then add a fuel system cleaner to the tank. stp is good or lucas. then go drive it around and run the tank down a lil like half way. does not have to be in a day. also check to see if ther is build up around any air/fuel sensors. and around the throttel body. and you may need to check to see if your fuel pump may be going out. thes are thing i would do. mabey some shit in you tank cloging the fuel pump. remember when you first start the car it is dumping extra fuel to help warm it up.so try this out and see if it help. shit its worth a try.

#126023 i just replaced the plugs, cap, rotor, plug wires, fuel filter a few months back, but maybe i have a clog b4 the fuel fliter, but i'l look into that fuel pump maybe it is bad, but does your gas gauge give you awrong reading?

and to top it off i just found out that my flywheel might be warpped

hey im not mad. its my thread so if dont say any thing its fine by me. i like talking bout are civics soo. but as for your question here is a DIY. its a really good one to. just make a few changes like if your useing a spray gun for the paint rather than a can. http://civic-eg.com/viewtopic.php?t=3
just fallow the steps and u can use it to paint your whole car :hehe: um as for the paint its spies hecker base color and transstar clear coat. spies also make a good primer. i work at a bodyshop so all the products are very easy to get. hope this helps... :thumb:

#126137 oh okay yeah cuz i need to paint my bumper so tahts a good diy..
just one question did you spray the adhesive to ur whole car or you skipped that part..?

by the way your car came out real clean.. did you wetsand it after?
User avatar
By egsedanguy
#126158 well in his diy he used an addhesion promoter to help the paint stick. when you use reall auto paint you have no need to use it. but when painting bumpers that are not painted and are raw plastic then yes i would recomend it. and no i havent wetsanded and buffed the whole car yet. i did the trunk and its ubber smooth. but when i get some free time ima do the whole car. ther is some dirts and a few lil runs i need to get out.

ok well i just had a supper big change in mind. i have done some resurching today and................im not putting in the ls. i am buying a jdm gsr engine. its a full swap with everything i need. I got a price quote+shipping to my front door. price is $2995.00 from royal japanese motors imports. so i must sell the b18b so i can ge my b18c :thumb:. its not that i dont want the ls its just.... well... i fucking want v-tec .lol the milage is between 20 and 35 thousand. 190hp and 129lbs of torque. whats not to love. plus it will be way more reliable than my motor. i just dont want to do all the work swap it in and it not run. so for the next 3 months i will not be buying any more parts for my car. i will be saving every penny. :thumb:
