so basically all you do to port the oil pump is round and radius the inlet(s) and outlet(s).

there is pretty much three of them that you enlarge and round out, the one when you take the cover off, it has a sharp ledge in there and unnecessary metal sticking straight up that somewhat hinders the flow...

the other 2 are where the sump hooks up, and where it passes oil to the oil filter. i just took a dremel tool with the sanding bit and spent some time enlarging the holes and kind of giving them a radius at the end. the z6's don't have as much as a problem as the y8's...those are terrible

thanks for all the comments guys, i got more stuff to post later on! :thumb:

#130337 lol ok cause. my block was apart when i got it. and i put it all together, well the bottom end, and realized i had a thrust washer still in my parts box. awwwwwwwww fuck, had to pull the pan and shit back off so i could slip in the washers. that would have been bad if i had forgot.

#131698 well good news, i drove her to work today :woot: :woot: :thumb:

i got about 250 miles on it or so and so far all is good, the vacuum at idle is about 20inHg, so i'm thinking that the rings had a good seat and will continue just a lil bit more. i have been compression braking a ton.

:x :x :x i had a tranny mishap though, when i was putting it back together and re-sealing it i put the reverse idler gear in upside down so no reverse.... i pulled out the tranny, fixed and put back together in time to drive to the beach in the dark :eh:

pics to come tomorrow!

#131960 Congratz. I bet its almost unbearable to have to break everything in and not stomp on it.

It sucks having to rip your tranny back out and fix something when your car is all back together, especially after a long time of it being apart.
