I just picked up some Krylon "satin oil rubbed bronze" for the centers and test fitted the 13 inch rings. PERFECT look and fit. id love to leave the lips alone but the chrome is just terrible:thumbdown:

- Mon Jun 25, 2012 3:32 am #309290 well I Purple Powered the hell out of them saturday morning and all the grease and grime came off on the insides. they are still far from perfect but the chrome came out far better than enxpected on the insides of the wheels. I am probably going to end up paining the back of the face of the wheels(know what I mean? the inside part?) black cause the chrome is just too far gone. but I will leave the lip chrome so if you look back in the wheels you will see the inside lip and blang blangin and such :lol:

now the real dilemma im facing... I could do the soda can center caps but I really really REALLY want to use the chrome Honda caps i have on my 13s

buuuut the hub bore is too large for them... :x

so i am thinking... i have like 4 sets of 13 inch steelies laying around... cut the centers out of them, put them over the hub center on my car, bolt the wheels overtop of them, mark the hub part of the cut piece with the circle thats the exact size of the center hole in the wheels, cut the piece to that exact size, then weld it in the center of the wheels. then they will be able to use the awesome center caps but more importantly, they will be hubcentric aswell.

possibly hard to understand im sorry

have you thought about trying early crv center caps? civic center bore is 56.1 and crv is i believe 64.1 :? might be worth a shot

this is true. you could also take a look at the center caps off of some of the older accords and preludes that had the 4x114.3 bolt pattern, since they have the 64.1 hub bore too.

a few millimeters of a gap is a heck of alot less than half an inch

- Tue Jul 03, 2012 10:02 pm #310068 well the wheels are all set to get some tires put on hopefully this weekend or next week. im not so worried about the center caps at the moment that can be dealt with later.

friday i got out the pressure washer and blasted the hell out of the car to remove any loose/chipping/flaking paint i possibly could. next step is a good sanding then its time for a new color :hehe:

my inspirations... not the wheels just the body colors. im using the Krylon Ocean Breeze Blue that my wheels are painted. its not going to be exactly these blues but its going to looks awesome

im in a serious tossup between gold wheels and gunmetal. keep in mind the wheel lips are chrome and the lugs/center caps are chrome aswell. i think either gunmetal or gold would look great against the baby blue.
