the compression will be high and more difficult to tune. stock is 9.5:1 while a mini-me (depending on the combo you use will be 10.5:1 or so.
it can be done with a smaller turbo, but mini-me and boost usually don't go well together.

d15b7 rods are weaker than d16 rods.
boosted mini-me's have very short lifespans.

so it's better to go all motor instead of go boost on a mini

Not saying it can;t be done, just not as practical as boosting a non mini-me'd sohc
All motor isn't too practical on a SOHC in terms of bang for your buck... Boost is where your best HP per dollar is at.
A mini-me is great for adding a little more HP and keeping reliability. perfect on a daily driver

High comp is great for spooling a large turbo IF you have a great engine management system and a very capable tuner. But even then, you'd be running at least 93 octane.
