#96218 hey everyone i got a b18b1 and i wanna know how much psi can the motor hold if i have a t25 turbo before i blow something? i hear for stock dohc motors the LS is best for turboing is this ture?

#99962 It's not About PSI, plz. What are your goals? and Yes the B18B1 is a pretty nice platform to start boosting and can hold it's own in stock form. But before you do anything you have to set your goal and work on seeing how you can achieve that.

1. No one turbo is the same, A T25 at 8psi (which Means Nothing Just a number) will not yield the same power a GT28RS will at 8psi.

2. You have to lay down a plan or rather a power goal for your project, and see what you can do to meet that Goal.

3. Proper Tuning, this WILL make or destroy your plans, no matter what turbo or what motor your have without proper tuning it's all a waste.

To answer your information better as I stated above I need to know what power goal you have then and only then can we be more specific with out answers.

i just want to get a turbo a friend has a t25 so i want to go alot faster without blowin anything pretty much i wast the most i can get.there was a guy who had 14 psi on a stock ls and cracked his block and still had the set up for a year but like u said its just numbers. i can get it tuned i got a guy. so wat do u think is it good or bad to boost a stock ls and will i be happy wit the out come??

I have a boosted LS wich i run a large turbo and high psi. my block is bone stock but has been to the dyno 3 times (after every major mod) and and tuned by an experienced Hondata tuner. there is a great writeup about maps for your turbo.
Also remember cylinder pressure is what will crack ur block. Good tuning that produces a safe A/F ratio is what your after. and remember that turbos ability to breathe freely, its ability to get cool oil at low pressures, how much fuel is being fed and when- when adding more fuel its not just to burn more fuel its to cool the combustion chamber.

AAAAnyways there is so much more but if you hang out in the turbo section of this site and just read even old posts, youll have invaluable info.

I'm not gonna brag how long it took me to find that post cuz it didn't even pass a min, but like you said before you don't know what to look for, and since I've been looking around I can sorta just put some specific words together and get a good result. Even though it's not from our site it doesn't mean that it's not good advice or that Uggg it's the competition I can't take tips from them.

We are all inexperienced at first and even me I haven't gotten my hands that dirty yet, but I like to know what I'm dealing with or going to be dealing with before I stick my hand in Anywhere :P :oops: (side tracked) umm yeah so just read a bit of that post and if you need more info you can search the old posts here like "ElPimpo" said before, or just go to google and Type stuff like B18B Turbo, or LS Turbo, or How to Turbo an LS Engine, etc. etc.etc. I'm sure you get the point
