I have a stock JDM B16A with CTR pistons, complete MSD ignition, and a skunk 2I/M. I was wondering what the parameters are for boosting this motor. I know the tune has to be more specific than w/ low compression. Also would it even be worth my time or should i stay n/a. If it's not too bad to boost it, does anyone know of any shops in Ga that are reliable.

id stay N/A if i was you because with compression that high (which i think would be about 11:1 with those) you couldnt boost much at all .. i say no more than 6psi for daily driver and reliability. after that your pushn those rods over 17:1 effective compression ratio under boost.

Get a Wetkit for any v8 on ebay for around $300 bucks, This will give you extra tips that you can play with if you want to. most come in 75, 100 and 150 settings.Some will come with 50 shot as the smallest, look around and see what you find.

If you want to go with a big shot(over 75) get a separate fuel cell and walbaro 255 fuel pump, Use that tank to store e85 that will be used only when running nitrous. e85 is basically cheap race gas that has 105 octane.

If you want to use anything bigger the a 75 shot, upgrade your fuel system.

As mentioned above using a turbo on this setup doesn't make since. you will have to run super low boost and even then run on high octane fuel(such as e85 or race gas) If you want to keep this engine, Spray nitrous on it. If you want to go boost sell the engine and build a LS for Boost.

If you are just drag racing Nitrous is the better choice, If you are primarily circuit racing, road racing, Mountain Runs(touge) or the like going with a turbo setup would be better.

b16s like the jug and they like boost, friend had a stock a2 with a dry shot. it loved a 65 hit. and im in the porcess of building a stock a2 with head work and a t3/t4 a b16 is a sturdy start for a build, a good tune is the key... but the higer compression will take its toll with any forced induction over time.

Hi compression + boost + really good tune (that's the important one) = EPIC fucking win.

If you have someone you can go to who is a really good tuner, boost the fucker.

I've seen 10:1 B18s on 10lbs of boost (although we all know it's not psi that kills engines ... right?) And the smaller bore b16 would be less prone to detonation. Do it.

b16s and b18s have the same bore... but stock gsr and stock b16s both make like 300whp at like 9 to 10 psi

Dammit I knew something was wrong there. Still, high comp + boost = fun.
