#81260 yeah i gotta z6 turbo now and it took a lot of mods and time but very worth it my buddy had his y8 over 500 on stock sleeves he was running meth tho

#81746 if you want to build a turbo d, then rock turbod-16.com - its all about that application so you will definatey find some nice info. Also, don't think that a single cam makes them a weak motor. Like people here are saying you can make some decent power and your also saving about 50 hp worth of weight over the H, a little less with the B. you've also got everything in your car already to make it work.. with the H & B your gonna need to look into extra axels, halfshafts, mounts etc. there is alot of under-the-cover things you need to consider, its not as simple as thrusting a motor in an engine bay, plugging it in, strapping on a turbo and burning down a track. If you wanna spend 3-4000 i'd say stay with the d.. i dont know how much it runs where you are, but where i'm from an H swap is gonna cost that by itself and you haven't even began to make power yet... this sounds like its gonna be your first build (forgive me if im wrong), so i'd say definately go with the d. a nice manifold, a decent turbo, a walbro fuel pump, upgrade oem oil pump, REPLACE the HEADGASKET with the SI one.. bad bad bad situation if you dont, also if your boosting over 7lbs, go with new internals(been there, friend blew it all the shreds.. ran 10 lbs and it blew a hole the size of a banana in the side of his block) i'm running tunertoys rods and vitara teflon pistons now, arp bolts for the rods and head, and consider going with new bearings as well. great set-up, doesnt say boo. makes power and makes it reliably. 14 psi daily is nothing to shame over. besides, after all this, you'll be able to make some nice power and you still won't have spent your 3-4000 dollars if you do any amount of shopping at all. my whole set up has yet to cost me near that in parts (do all my own wrenching) and like i said, im running a t3/t4 turbo, front mount intercooler and all the plumbing, pistons, rods, arp's etc. (but i did manage to pick up some wicked, wicked deals)

p.s. - i'd still choose to turbo an H tho IF you have the time, money, know-how, and more money. :P

My Nitrous D16z6 goes pretty good with basic mods and the bottle.
Build up the a D16, I Recommend at least forged Rods, I/H/E and some nitrous. Nitrous is the cheapest way to make Power. My mostly stock z6 has taking down alot with the bottle.

dont wanna hate on ya, but i dont think i'd ever go bottle... i want my power and i want it all the time. yeah the bottle is nice if your driving just on th strip... but you can't afford to run spray all over the place, and you would be breaking stuff if you did lol. Either bottle or a snail is gonna require you to replace internals to make some serious power, so you might as well go turbo and have a reliable and full time power.. its nice to be able to go fast, its nicer to be able to go fast all the time...
