- Sun Apr 19, 2009 10:37 pm #111701 which motor would be better for boost. i have a z6 in my car now and i just bought a d15b 3stage vtec from a buddy cause he needed cash.any boost advantages? im gonna build which ever one idecide to so pretty just wondering if there's as much out there for d15 as thez6.

- Mon Apr 20, 2009 1:47 am #111731 from my experiences building my z6, the parts for the z6 are really easy to come buy, and are often not too expensive..

you get the little bit more displacement with the z6, found all in the stroke i think.. (84 mm versus 90 mm i think) not that it'll really make that big a difference, but a z6 will be slightly torquier ..

z6 is a more common motor around these parts, so you'll have better luck with finding one if yours kicks the bucket too..

i really don't know if there is any benefit to boosting one or the other on the pretense that one will better handle the power.. if your over 7 psi your gonna need to re-do your bottom end anyways..

however, some d15B's had an lsd which would be cool..

- Mon Apr 20, 2009 5:02 am #111778 i was going to build the bottom end either way. i think im going z6. do vitara pistons and eagle rod and probably a block guard. i know alot think they're crap but im not rich so ya.....
