Civic EG

So the threads on my shift knob broke in the knob, but I didn't have a replacement for it so I super glued it back together. Now I have a replacement for it and need to get the old knob off to remove the shifter. I've tried a multitude of different things even drilled a hole in it. Any ideas on how to get it off?

Try a heat gun to see if it will soften the glue Super glue is kind of permanent.
