Civic EG

Ok so I bought this car a month ago and its a honda del sol with a Z6/B7 minime and so far its good but the other day the shifter just dropped to the floor. I pulled back up and it stayed there but the still might do it again. I haven't looked under the car yet but can someone tell me what i might have to do?

deft make sure the bolts are all the way in for the base of the shifter, also not missing, also make sure all the rubber boots and still intact
