quick question guys, is the y4f same as the s20 trans?

Y4f is from 96-00, s20 is from a 92-95
92-95 trannys use an aluminum fork while 96-00 use a steel fork.

what about internals, is it the same 4.25 final drive?

most internals are exchangeable... not sure if the FD ratios are the same or not. I've never tried. I googled & found this chart which may help:

good info, y4f comes in the lx civic 96/00, so FD seems to be 4.05 coupe and 3.72 HB, thanks

why would honda change the fd ratio between makes..
i smell bs on that info

i work at a honda&acura trans shop
ill ask our manual builder tomorrow bout the fd ratio for u
and yes teal is correct on the forks

well that info is for the lx trans for the 96-00 civic's

but not sure i can find that out as well
the lx and ex trans look identical
thats for the 5,6,and 7th gens, im not sure other gens
but its the insides that are diff

but ill find out

other then the casting number and the vins
they all look the same
lx,dx,ex... for the ek and eg gens
