Civic EG

So like many other eg owners, after 285,000kms, my bumpers were about an inch below my fenders. I followed a couple diys out there, which said to get a bolt, nut, and two washers to hold them up. Much better than plastic oem crap, or so i thought. When you get rear ended and your rusty fenders dont break on both sides, the metal under your side rear window might bend. Last pic is my buddy who hit me, I dont blame him I slowed down for car and he hydroplaned.

EDIT: people have informed me that the side damage that i circled was probably from frame damage, my bad. but if you look where the bumper connects to the fender it is bent, so if this was a less serious accident, that small corner probably still would have bent, increasing the repair bill.

I agree with most of the posters on H/T. The Lude hit you pretty good, Anytime your rear ended there will be a good deal of damage.

I'm pretty sure even if you had oem shitty hardware holding it together the damage would be similar. When my 100% Stock DC Integra was rear ended i had ripples going down the side. It has the same stock oem hardware holding on the rear bumper.

How come most the civics in the states have alot of rust in them? Where as over here, you would only find rust in cars from the late 70's

we get snow, and use salt on the roads to battle the ice. i assume you guys don't get snow..

Depends on what state. Cars from AZ, NV, parts of CA, TX, NM have no rust. I never encountered rust until I moved to UT (except for cars at the beach).

Also if u live near a beach... the moist air carries salt and sitting cars get rusty
