alright im starting to collect ac parts and i have some questions...When your removing the evaporator from under the
dash off the donor parts car do u needboth parts of it or just the top part ?

the evaporator is within a black housing ........ you need that whole thing the evaporator and expansion valve are inside that.... make sure it doesnt leak and make sure everything is wrapped correctly ... the valve and the little needle should be wrapped with gum gum

hey quick question...Did u clean any of the parts before u installed them?
And did you take it to a ac shop to get the ac system checked for leaks etc?

clean the evaporator of any leaves dirt or anything and i mean to keep my car minty i polished my lines and wat not

make sure you flush the system and make sure you have it vacuumed for like 2 hours then filled and make sure compressor has oil<<< no dry starts

ok i clearly need to study more lol..How do u flush the system and
vaccum it ?

Let the AC shop flush the system.

Buy a new drier. You can get them for less than $30 at the parts store and they have a big effect on the systems performance. Also, get all new O rings for your hoses and lines.

O rings are like gasket right?.....So how do i vaccum the system?

Definitely get a new receiver/drier and new o-rings. Coat each new o-ring with ester oil prior to installation. My first receiver/drier was from Napa, and even though it was the correct part # it leaked. The cause was mismatched threading on the Napa part -- straight bore vs. tapered bore. I returned it and got the more expensive Honda OEM part, and that one did not leak.

the o rings are on the end of the a.c lines replace them all dont skip one

and to vacuum the lines let the shop do that too it's easier and done right

i too am collecting the ac for my car.. and this answers some of my questions too

anybody has questions just ask in here cuz i had to put a.c in my car from scratch cuz it never came with it... takin and put it all back together multiple times so i would say i kno a good amount i guess

Thx..i havent gone to the pick n pull in awhile so hopefully tommarow i buy everything i need to get it done..this is my first summer driving in 100 degree weather without ac.
