honda bond or autozone sealent

ive been on numerous forums and never a clear answer,should you use honda bond or rtv or none,for valve cover gasket bseries .

I don't think you should use any. Just use a fresh gasket and torque the nuts properly.

You need to put small dabs of Honda bond on the 90 degree corners of the gasket. Otherwise oil will leak out.
The cheap stuff will work, but honda bond works better. It's cheap and easy to come by, so why not? Good mechanics use it on everything; not just Hondas.

ya i just got some stuff from auto zone. its the red stuff. smells like ass to. but it works good.

as stated above put it on the 90 degree anlges you know where the cam caps are on each end so oil wont leak out... you can use the Grey RTV (i think its grey) or Hondabond.. even Catapiller works really good.
this should give you an idea where to put it when you put your gasket on..
btw..thats not my hand... for the record lol

your head should already have cam caps

one broke were the valve cover bolts to it beside the vtec solinoid

i used the grey rtv rated at 650 degrees,seems to be holding up no leaks yet , i let it run for about 20 minutes,when i get the rear suspension done ill tell you if it holds up

all the hondabond and mopar bond is black permatex sealant.

yeah i know but i live in a hick town all we got is autozone,and a napa that never has anything,unless all you need is a gas can

yea if ur going to get the cheap stuff...make sure it's the high temp rtv

it was like 10 bucks for it rated for 650 degrees,we'll see what happens .
