#58559 well one of my friends has a d16z6 in his hatch and he built it up and turbo'd it and it gets going pretty good..same with another friend..he has a coupe and it's a turbo'd z6 and it runs 12's. It's a good motor. I plan on doing the same..building it up and turboing it

#58584 Be a man and stay with a D series! (im not trying to be genderist :eh: ) .. Rebuild the motor and get a simple greddy turbo kit! :woot: .. or .. junkyard turbo would be cheaper... That way... when you do put a B series to shame.. you can rub it in their face :thumb:

#58587 haha. hells yeh. is there alot i have to do to the d16 so it'll get enough boost? cus im in northern wy and im gonna have to take it to denver to get it tuned.. how much will it hold? ive never played with hondas before. i found this one wrecked for 200 bucks and i pulled out the front so a hood will fit on right and enough to get a couple of the front screws in the bumper. so i apreciate the help.

#58614 You could do it with a Z6 but it'd be easier with a B or other motor and they have potential to be even faster while the D will hit some serious roadblocks.

definitely well said.

D series stock motor will have a rough estimated max around 220whp or so while the VTEC Bs can easily attain 250whp or more on a stock engine with boost.

Honestly, I wish I went B lol.

#58630 Listen to Low-tec...

I have a d16z6 golden eagle sleeved block, wiseco sluggs and eagle rods. then had the crank polished and balanced, and assembled it with clevite bearings. in i'm about 2200 into my bottom end and will be in the 500hp range

If i would've went b-series i could've easily made 700hp for the same price. and with much less head ache from tranny's and axle's always breaking.
