Passing smog test?

im pretty sure there is lots of ppl with engine swap for the power. which it means they would mod it. specially in CA. so how they pass the smog test???
what they do to pass the test?
do they really change everything to stock??

If the person wants to legally get it smogged they will change it back to stock but most dont do that. So I've heard of some guys getting the car clean piped, which means that you pay $100-$200 to the smog tech, they run another car on the dyno and put your car's info into the computer. That car passes smog and your car gets new registration with ever touching the smog dyno. Now, you have to find a smog tech that will do this iillegal procedure. My opinion would be to get the car ref'd or just run it stock and not have to hassel with the B.S.
