I went to start my EK beater yesterday after about 6 weeks of not being started...

The belt(s) were quealing like a mofo so I shut it off right away. Opened the hood and turned it on again and saw that there was some smoke coming from the alternator pulley. It doesn't turn at all. Can sitting in a driveway for too long cause this to happen? I'm gonna take it off and see if I can break it loose, or is an alternator done once it is seized :?

Just replace it, if its giving you problems now, the last thing you need is to be driving around and have it fail.
