Wiper Swtich/Motor not working

I've been having this nagging issue with the wipers working, sometimes they do but mostly they don't. I've changed the wiper switch about 4 times now and the wipers would work but only for about a few days and then nothing. I checked and cleaned all switches using a diy found on here before installing, and all of them came from the local junkyard. Now I'm on my 5th switch, from a 96, and still nothing. What should I check into next? Is this a sign that the motor is just on it's way out then? Is there a way to test the motor bypassing the switch/harness, if I was to get one from a jy or from someone selling one?
Like I said, the wipers would work but only for a short while.
