Got my Morimotos in

I haven't posted in a long time and wanted to show off my new headlights. I work night shift and therefore drive a lot at night and was never satisfied with the stock headlights. I started looking around at options and came across these Morimoto projectors. While you still have to take the headlight apart to "retrofit" these, they are much simpler because you don't have to modify the housing to install them. Simply take the headlight apart after heating it in the oven, remove the halogen reflector, insert the projector and the washers and tighten down the nut. It's that simple. I'm amazed at the output of these projectors. There is a very definitive cutoff light and they have no glare at all. Here are a couple of pictures of the finished result. I hope to get some night shots soon.

Here's a picture of the cutoff in my garage during the day, not that great a picture with all the light coming in the windows but gives you an idea of the output:

Looks nice!! I drive a lot in the night aswell. I wanted to do the same to my sedan, but I wasn;t sure how it would look. It doesn't look too bad. I saw those projectors at theretrofitsource.com Did you get them there?

They are the same ones that they sell at theretrofitsource but I actually picked them up on ebay here:

The headlights also came from ebay. They are TYC headlights. The projectors don't do well with the stock fluted lense headlights, you need a clear lense like these:

I used digital AC output ballasts with HID bulbs. Don't waste your time with the cheap DC ballasts on ebay because they aren't consistent and flicker.

The lighting looks great. Im just not a fan of the way the projector looks. It reminds me of those ugly angel eye headlights. I wanted to use those same projectors but on stock headlights. I now the lighting won't be as good but I think it would look better.

You could paint the shroud for the projector black or leave it off entirely and it would have less of the angel eye look. Just an idea.

Not sure but the Morimotos are some of the smallest projectors on the market. They are made to fit an H4 or H7 socket.

I have under $180 in mine, Morimoto projectors, Bi-Xenon relay harness and AC ballasts and hid bulbs. And the replacement headlights were only $75 so basically $255 for everything.

Thats really good. I am going to do this in a couple of months. It's worth it. I have some Philips X-treme Power H4 bulbs on mine. They are a very nice upgrade from stock, but nothing compared to HID retrofit.
