Wiring in a Rev Counter

My car was originally an automatic, but the guy who owned it before me did an engine conversion, and now it's a manual.

Now, on the dials, I have the speedo in the middle as normal, and everything else, but where the rev counter should be, there's just a honda badge, and I much prefer to have an actual rev counter, none of these external/ standalone rev counters, I personally think they're crap.

If I went to a scrappy and got one from a manual which'll have the rev counter too, how would I wire it up into mine?

Everything else should be straight forward, just plug out and plug in matching the current one I've got, but obviously I wouldn't have one for the rev counter. Is it a major wiring job? I hope it's pretty straight forward as I would really like to have a rev counter.

Thanks! :thumb:

Yep, just get one from a manual car with a rev counter (tach) and there's already an extra plug in your harness you'll see when you remove your old cluster. Plug everything into the new manual cluster, including the additional wire, and you're done!

Ah cool, thanks!

Sorry just one other thing, I'm not quite sure what you mean by when you say 'tach'? :?

tach is short for tachometer, which is the proper term for "rev counter"
