cluster problem.

this is really weird, now this happened before my swap, i think when the other engine blew it might have something to do with it. but i cant figure out what the hell is wrong with it. could it be an electrical shortage? is it an ecu problem? cause my ecu was fine. also when i rev my engine, the mph gauge moves which doesnt make sense to me other than the fact its manual now and the ecu is auto.

okay

heres my cluster when i turn the key one click

heres my cluster when engaged and ready to be turned over

even when i turn the car on, it goes a little higher to 40 mph

im assuming this is an electrical short or maybe a sensor is in the wrong port? :?

can i adjust this?

haha, dodgy cluster. You now have 2 rev counters  good luck fixing the problem...

Bump.

my guess too... I'd say it might have to do with the tach install. did you put that in before you went to manual?

Seems like a grounding issue. Just make sure everything that you've messed with lately around the cluster or dash electrical is grounded. If the VSS is failing, it will bounce at random (or register nothing at all) after the vehicle is in motion. The vss or wiring to the cluster is getting voltage when you switch on 12v. So, I would check near the cluster. Got an alarm? Stuff like that. And then a nice backup is to always check a "known-good" cluster. It should only take about 10 minutes start to finish to pull one from a friend's EG and pop it into your car, see if it does the same thing, then re-install it in his vehicle.
