Power Locks

So the new coupe has power locks, and it also has keyless entry.

With the damn weather I haven't been able to play with it much, but I was just wondering something.

The little tab for the power locks, it doesn't seem to stay in any sort of position, it loosely moves back and forth not more than an inch or so.

There's no audio indication that I've locked or unlocked the doors, except for when I use the keyless of course. When it warms up I want to experiment with turning the engine on, rolling down the window and trying to lock myself out using the power locks and then having the engine off and see if there's any difference.

Can anyone tell me though, should I be hearing some sort of indication that the doors have been locked or unlocked? Or what is the locking button supposed to do? Stay rigidly in the "Locked" and "unlocked" position? :?

I would assume that your Lock button would be In or Out. I don't have OEM keyless Entry so I cant be sure though.

if that piece is messed up replace it with another one. i dont think those years had a noise to tell weather it locks or unlucks, but you can usually hear the door lock tho. aftermarket keyless entry makes noise and lights flash. is it all oem?.. if it is show picture of the remote

I'll try to get pics today or tomorrow. I usually like to drive around with the doors locked, that's mainly why I ask.

There is a noise indicator when I use the keyless and it differs for locking and unlocking and the corner lights flash.

In my dad's pick-up you can distinctly hear the locks when you use the power locks from inside the vehicle, but in the coupe you hear nothing when moving that lock button on the door panel :? . I'll show you pics.

Doesn't appear to be OEM:

I wonder if the installation of this somehow deactivated my power locks from within the car...I checked the fuse panel and the fuse for the power locks was gone. I used a spare 20A and put it in and still nothing. With the power on in the car I tried using the remote keyless and it locked and unlocked the doors still.

I suppose if I want to cruise with the doors locked I'll just have to lock them using the remote from inside the car. :?

Originally power locks. What I'm thinking is maybe when they installed the remote starter/security system they bypassed the power locks from the switch to the lock and re-wired the lock directly to the Alpine Control Unit under the dash.

When the weather's warmer I'll take the door panels off and see what they did and I could probably fix it if that's the case. It's not that much of an inconvenience, but thanks for brainstorming with me guys.
