HVAC unit lighting..

For the most part the lights are always out on my HVAC unit..that is the bulbs that light the entire control unit, the individual selection lights on the push buttons themselves work always.

Funny thing is I notice that it does cut on and off..meaning I was going down the Parkway on teh way to work this evening and I guess I hit a bump just right...next thing you know the lights come on...after a few minutes they cut back off. My question is...is this just a matter of bulbs being shot or is there something more going on here like a bad connection of some sort?

Funny you should mention it because I currently have no headunit or speakers in the hatch...empty din..

well there goes my theory on that
sometimes when people install a radio, they get a short from a bare or pinched wire.

I'd start by replacing those builbs. sometimes right before the filament burns out, it can barely be making contact. Then you might have a short in wiring elsewhere since it is happening over bumps.
Have you ever removed your dash before, or is it all untouched back there?

I've never removed the dash myself..but I can't say what the previous owner may or may not have done to contribute to it...If it is a short how hard would it be to trace?

I'm going to guess cracked solder on the circuit board or a loose ground screw. That's what it was on my 92 Integra.
